Abstract

It is the second part of a two-part study devoted to three-dimensional (3-D) simulations based on the mathematical model and solution methods proposed in Part 1. Employing the wake coefficients in Facchinetti, et al. (2004), the numerical results converge very well if sufficient modes and proper time step-size are adopted. Simulations utilizing newly calibrated wake coefficients in Srinil and Zanganeh (2012) are performed. Acceptable agreements are observed in both inline (IL) and cross-flow (CF) directions after comparisons with experimental data in Stappenbelt et al. (2007). Parametric analyses highlighting the effects of an end-mass, internal flow and nozzleinduced tension are undertaken.
