Abstract

We report a case of duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), which is a very rare submucosal tumor of the duodenum. MRI was very useful in diagnosing this rare tumor and considered to be mandatory for correct diagnosis. On coronal image, the tumor showed dumbbell-shape appearance, which was relatively characteristic for GIST. On dynamic study, it revealed early heterogeneous enhancement as well as prolonged enhancement, which correspond to hypervascular nature and rich fibrous stroma of the tumor pathologically.
