Abstract

The DONUT experiment succeeded in observing tau-neutrino CC interactions for the first time in 2000. The analysis using total sample is presented in this paper, based on 3.5×10 17 protons on target. The number of identified ν τ CC interactions is 9 from 581 neutrino interactions located in the emulsion. The result of the first measurement of ν τ CC cross section is consistent with the expectation from the Standard Model.
