Abstract

To conduct a concert of Co-C bond cleavage and subsequent H-atom abstraction may be the role of cob(II)alamin in coenzyme B12 dependent mutases (see picture, Ado = adenosyl). Evidence is presented on the basis of DFT analysis that these reactions are concerted and that the radicals generated during the catalytic process are stabilized by the presence of corrin. (Chemical Equation Presented).
