N2 - We report a technique of DNA separation based on DNA dynamics at the interface of nanopillar and nanopillar-free regions in nanopillar array chips. We investigated the residence time of DNA molecules at the interface of nanopillar and nanopillar-free regions, and revealed that DNA molecules were trapped at the interface by entirely introducing DNA molecules from nanopillar-free to nanopillar regions. The separation of DNA molecules could be achieved within five seconds based on the difference of residence time of each DNA.
