Abstract
An analog method is developed for selecting a rank order element directly from a set of samples. Simple nonlinear equations are presented for the order statistic and the weighted order statistic and these equations are implemented with analog MOS circuits. The circuit contains no sorting subsystem and no clock signal. The length of wiring in the circuit is proportional only linearly to the number of input samples.
