Abstract

The adverse behaviour of strata and supports will enhance the safety and productivity problems. Therefore, the warning of adverse behaviour is imperative for implementing precautionary measures to effective longwall operations. The authors successfully developed an innovative real time system with in-built warning facilities. The warning was reliable and prompt due to differential sensor signals. The innovative warning was successfully field tested in one of the Indian longwall mines. The details of innovative development and applications will be discussed in this paper.
