Abstract

Weather routing system is a quite useful system for reduction of fuel consumption, keeping a schedule and safe navigation. In this paper, the authors developed weather routing system that is the supporting system for the selection of optimum route of a ship under way in stormy weather based on atmospheric and oceanic information in order to improve efficiency and safety of ship navigation. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified by numerical simulations.
