title = "Development of an evaluation method for a lithium/electrolyte interface based on x-ray reflectivity and grazing incidence x-ray scattering measurements",
abstract = "This study demonstrates the feasibility to investigate the electrolyte-side of the Li/electrolyte interface using an X-ray total reflection phenomenon. By means of a specially designed cell and synchrotron X-ray sources, the reflectivity curve is successfully obtained, where the critical angle is in reasonable agreement with the calculated value. Furthermore, we attempt to perform grazing incidence X-ray scattering measurement and find a characteristic signal, which should strongly reflect structural properties of the electrolyte in the interfacial region.",

This paper is partially based on results obtained from the project “Research and Development Initiative for Scientific Innovation of New Generation Batteries (RISING2)”, JPNP16001, commissioned by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). X-ray reflectivity curve and grazing incidence X-ray scattering measurements were performed at BL28XU in the SPring-8 (Proposal Nos. 2016B7608, 2017A7608, 2017B7608, 2018A7608, 2018B7608, 2019A7616, 2019B7616, and 2020A7616).
