Abstract
The utilization of underground for high-level radioactive waste disposal has rapidly increased the importance of investigating the shear-flow properties of rock joints. In this paper, a new advanced shear-flow coupling test apparatus has been designed and produced to derive more shear-flow properties for a rock joint. From the result of the shear-flow tests to confirm the efficiency of this apparatus, the rotation of the upper box was perfectly controlled during shear and the hydraulic conductivity was determined for the regions before and after peak shear stress.
