Abstract
The Depletion force and the potential of mean force between large hard spheres immersed in a binary mixture are studied by the OZ-HNC theory. The binary mixture consists of medium and small hard spheres as crowding agents and solvent molecules. The results are qualitatively different from that calculated for a model of which the solvent molecules are neglected. The medium spheres act as both a stabilizer and a destabilizer depending on their concentration, although it had been thought as a stabilizer, not a destabilizer.
