Defect turbulence in the coupled Swift-Hohenberg-Ginzburg-Landau equations

    We propose a coupled equation of the Ginzburg-Landau equation and the Swift-Hohenberg equation as a model of pattern-forming systems with spontaneously broken isotropy. Defect turbulence appears owing to the frustration between the wavevector of the periodic pattern and the spontaneously broken direction.
