Abstract

Crystal structure analysis of a new metallic compound, Cu6O8·InCl, has been carried out using the X-ray powder pattern-fitting method (Rietveld method) together with thermal analysis. This compound has a face-centered cubic structure analogous to Ag7O8(NO3) with a space group of Fm m and a unit cell dimension of a=9.166 Å (Rwp=2.65%). This compound decomposed at 600°C to CuO and In2Cu2O5.
