Abstract

The system (Zr,Ti)(Mn,V)2 was systematically investigated by the Rietveld method. Most of the alloys were multiphase with up to four phases which are simultaneously present in one alloy. The identified phases were: the C14 and C15 Laves phases, the η-carbide type oxide A3B2O, α-zirconium and the BCC solid solution. The oxide phase was stable under heat treatment at 1000°C for 30 h. A qualitative phase relation was shown for the system (Zr,Ti)(Mn,V)2.
