Abstract
Spontaneous symmetry breaking in (1+1)-dimensional φ4 theory is studied with discretized light-front quantization. The critical coupling evaluated from the first few terms in the ℏ expansion of the commutation relations [a0, an] is 28.8μ2/ℏ ≤ λcr ≤ 31.1μ2/ℏ, consistent with the equal-time value, 22μ2/ℏ ≤ λcr ≤ 55.5μ2/ℏ.
