Abstract
It has been brought to our attention that in the paper by Kuan-Chen Chen et al. (ppap.201500183), published online on December 2, 2015, it was not unequivocally disclosed which PIC-MCC code the authors used for their calculations. In Section 3 Results and Discussion, the first sentence of the fifth paragraph reads in the original paper: To understand the experimental results, we calculated the axial distribution of electron energy distribution function (EEDF) using the one-dimensional PICMCC code.[9-10] The authors declared that the code they used was developed by PEGASUS Software Inc. They did not use the PIC-MCC code generated by Paola Diomede and Savino Longo as may have been indicated by the cited references 9 and 10. The afore mentioned sentence should read instead: To understand the experimental results, we calculated the axial distribution of electron energy distribution function (EEDF) using the one-dimensional PIC-MCC code developed by PEGASUS Software Inc. The PIC code developed by PEGASUS is not sufficient for understanding the experimental results. In the reference list, reference [9] and [10] are to be cancelled.
