Abstract

Experimental data were obtained of the critical heat flux in the relatively high quality region for Freon 22 at high subcritical pressure flowing upward in a vertical, uniformly heated round tube, in addition to the previous data. Additional data were also obtained for the tube of a different diameter over the wide range of the quality. A dimensionless correlation of the critical heat flux was developed for the regime found newly, and the correlations obtained previously for the other regimes were slightly modified based on the present data.
