Abstract

Silica based mesoporous materials, such as SiO2-TiO2 and SiO2-Al2O3, have attracted increasing attention because of their remarkable acidic and adsorption properties. In this review, we report sol-gel synthesis of mesoporous SiO2 composite which has homogeneous network, such as Si-O-Ti, using metal alkoxides as source. In addition, spherical mesoporous SiO2 and SiO2-TiO 2 particles were synthesized by sol-gel method using W/O emulsion under microwave irradiation.
