Context-aware support for self-directed ubiquitous-learning

This research illustrates how ubiquitous technologies can be used to support self-directed learning. It presents the characteristics of the technology-supported self-directed ubiquitous-learning (TSUL) environments. Consequently, we present a model of an environment for supporting self- directed learners doing learning tasks or activities by utilising ubiquitous technologies. This environment allows the learners to interact with the physical world in order to develop their learning experiences in using the real objects. It provides personalised recommendations based on the detected context. It is observed that the environment stimulates self-directed learning and it received positive responses from the learners.
