N2 - This research showed the procedure to search the proper welding condition, in lap joints of aluminum alloys made by laser welding. In this research, parameters of laser welding were the following three factors ; gap width, welding speed and laser power. By strength tests and observations of weld zone, the following conclusion was obtained. In order to search the laser welding condition range under which tensile strength and fatigue strength are stabilized, it is necessary to observe the states of weld zone and avoid following two matters. The one is lack of fusion by the shortage of heat input, and the other is weld cracking near toe of the weld by the excess of that.
