Abstract
Several analytical models for the concrete confined by rectilinear steels, including ordinary hoops and square steel tubes, are studied. These models are applied to predict the experimental results available in the literature. Comparison is conducted for the compressive strength and stress-strain curve of confined concrete. Analytical results obtained by models accounting for the distribution shape and rigidity of transverse steels show better agreement with experimental results.
