Abstract

This paper presents the design and measurement of a compact monopole ultra wideband (UWB) antenna on a flexible substrate. The proposed antenna is composed of slot and stubs in main radiator and ground metal. By optimizing the lengths and widths of the slot and stubs, wide band impedance matching can be realized. Impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is from 3 GHz to 12.71 GHz and the antenna size is 14.5 mm × 35 mm and 0.254 mm thickness.
