Abstract
We present a novel carrier-phase stabilization scheme for sub-THz communications. The scheme has a pseudo-Mach-Zehnder interferometric configuration in which two optical sidebands from an optical frequency comb travel along two different optical paths and then are coupled with each other. The interference between the optical frequencies generated from two sidebands are monitored and controlled to be constant, so that the phase noise of the generated sub-THz carrier is stabilized. Experimental results show an error-free (BER <) data transmission and better BER performance than that of the conventional method with 11-Gbit/s on-off keying modulation at 100-GHz carrier frequency.
