N2 - We analyzed patch test results of the Japanese standard allergen series (2008) performed in our department between April 2009 and March 2013. Among 235 cases (male: 42, female: 193), most of the men were in their 30s and 60s, and most of the women were in their 60s. As for primary diseases, contact dermatitis comprised 54%, followed by drug eruption, pustulosis palmaris et plantaris and metal allergy. Compared with the previously reported results by the Japanese Society for Dermatoallergology and Contact Dermatitis, a higher rate of drug eruption was noted among our cases. The positive rates for the top three allergens were 11.9% for potassium dichromate, 8.1% for mercuric chloride, and 7.2% for urushiol in the present study, whereas the top rates were 13.7% for nickel sulfate, 10.8% for urushiol and 7.6% for cobalt chloride in the Society report.
