Abstract

A novel design of a circularly polarized planar slot array antenna is proposed for 920MHz Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications. Our proposed slot antenna is realized circularly polarized radiation. A four antenna elements are placed with the same electrical length. This array antenna has a reflector metal layer which is connected to the back of the antenna in order to achieve a high gain and one-sided directional radiation. This antenna is fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW). The final antenna size including the reflector metal layer is 282 × 280 × 47.2mm3. The measured results are consistent with the simulation results. This antenna realized a high gain and cost effective.
