Abstract

Described are the results of a statistical analysis, carried out by the Ministry of Transport off Cape Nojima in the Northwestern Pacific, to promote maritime safety. Results showed that significant wave heights during the winter were about two to three times as large as those observed in the Pacific coastal area. (R.I.H.)
