Abstract

A high quality Nb-based tunnel junction with a dimension of 200 μm × 200 fun was tested by irradiating with x-rays. Two kinds of stable operation modes were observed by applying a magnetic field with different ramping speeds. The junction exhibiteda good response to x-rays of 5.9 keV and FWHM (full width at half maximum) of 93 eV was obtained.
