Bond-slip behavior of two dimensional Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastic grids

This study presents the construction of a new simple analytical model for CFRP (Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastic) grids and formulating the bond-slip relation at the intersection node of CFRP grids, considering parameters obtained from the experimental data. This analytical model employs the bond linkage element for FEM analysis which consists of bi-linear springs to express the bond-slip behavior on lines and intersection nodes of CFRP grids. It is the feature of this model to treat bond-slip on the intersection nodes separately from bond-slip on the lines. The validity of this model is verified by comparing with pull-out test results of CFRP grids embedded in concrete. Furthermore, a normalized bond-slip relation between CFRP grids and concrete using non-dimensional slip is also presented to neglect the effects of the diameters of CFRP grids lines.
