Abstract
Background: So far, only a few cases of ocular complications in adult-onset Still's disease have been described. We report a case of bilateral granulomatous uveitis associated with adult-onset Still's disease. Case Report: A 77-year-old male without any history of uveitis had been diagnosed with adult-onset Still's disease and treated with 10 mg/day of prednisolone. After about 4 months, he noted hyperemia and visual loss, which led him to visit his ophthalmologist. Bilateral uveitis was diagnosed, and although the patient was treated with both topical and systemic corticosteroid medication, ocular manifestations did not improve. The patient was therefore referred to the Department of Ophthalmology of Kyushu University. We administered dexamethasone, 6 mg intravenously per day, and the ocular symptoms gradually improved. Conclusion: Uveitis may occur with adult-onset Still's disease.
