Abstract

Antigen-specific cytotoxicity was augmented 24 hr after in vivo or in vitro treatment with concanavalin A at approximately the peak of response to allografted EL-4 cells. Such augmentation appears to require protein synthesis but not cell division. The augmentation may be ascribed to enhanced expression of cytotoxic activity of performed effector T cells rather than an increase in the number of effector cells.
