Abstract

A new method for rendering views is presented. The method can make a virtual city with walk-through capabilities. This work describes the basic theory of a new plenoptic function, analyzes the applicable areas of the theory and the characteristics of generated images, and demonstrates a complete working system using both indoor and outdoor scenes.
