Abstract
This paper presents the Galerkin's method in the application of wave response analysis of mat-like floating plates. The solution of the method consists of a boundary integral equation solution of wave field and an approximate solution of the plate equation by Galerkin's method. This method converges rapidly with the increase in the plate rigidity. Sensitivities of wave periods and plate rigidities are discussed and comparisons between the two-dimensional analytical solutions and the three-dimensional solutions by the proposed method are made.
