Anisotropic Nd2Fe14B-based magnet powders with high remanences produced by modified HDDR process

Abstract

In this study, effects of hydrogenation-decomposition-desorption-recombination (HDDR) Nd-Dy-Fe-Co-B-Zr-Ga alloy powders were studied. It was found that magnetic anisotropy of the powders can be improved by appending intermediate argon (IA) treatment where the hydrogenated materials are annealed under argon atmosphere before desorption by a vacuum in the HDDR process. Magnet powders produced by this modified HDDR process show excellent magnetic properties.
