N2 - An extensive parametric study on the flexural resistance of exposed-type column base of concrete filled steel tube (CFT) was carried out using an elasto-plastic analysis method that was proposed by the authors. In the analysis, force-deformation relationships of anchor bolt, base plate, and concrete in the connection panel of a column base were taken into account. The considerable influential factors on flexural resistances of column bases were discussed. Comparing the calculated flexural resistance according to the Japanese standards with the results obtained from the analyses, it was clear that the current Japanese standards underestimate the flexural resistances of the column bases which were subjected to higher axial forces.
