Analysis of the Primary Causes and Economic Effects of Information-Related Investment in the United States and Trends in Japan

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the economic impact of information-related investment in the U.S. and Japan. For this purpose, we first conduct several empirical analysis in the U.S. and then we examine methods for calculating information-related investment data in Japan because there is no official data in Japan. Finally, we make a comparative analysis between the U.S. and Japan with regard to the measurement of IT capital productivity.
