Abstract

A theory is presented which predicts the post-failure behavior of laminated plates subjected to combined inplane loads. To take account of the post-failure state, two idealized material properties are assumed, i. e. , the ductile matrix and the brittle matrix. Throughout the process from the initial failure to the final fracture, the detailed behavior of the laminate can be analyzed. A method for analyzing the unloading and reloading behavior is also given.
