    Abstract

A fast and exact method for analyzing coupled inset dielectric guide (IDG) is presented using the Fourier transform technique with a modified perfectly matched boundary (MPMB). By introducing the MPMB, the numerical integral has been avoided, and the convergence and the computing precision have greatly been improved. The coupling characteristics of several IDG couplers have been discussed.
