Abstract

In this paper, an experimental method for sound field analysis is applied to test rooms to investigate the influence of the incident sound field on sound insulation between dwelling rooms at low frequencies. First, the method is validated through sound field reconstruction and evaluation of incident directivities. Then, the sound fields in the test rooms under level difference measurement are analyzed to clarify the relation between incident characteristics and measured sound insulation performance. The result demonstrates the influence of incident characteristics on sound insulation of an RC wall and on sound reduction improvement index by additional linings.
