N2 - A computational fluid dynamics method is investigated for numerical simulations of strongly nonlinear phenomena involving the large deformation of free surface. The numerical solution method of this study is based on the CIP (Constrained Interpolation Profile) scheme, and the multigrid technique for solving a pressure Poisson's equation with high efficiency and robustness. This paper particularly focuses on the strategy of the code extension from 2D to 3D in the iterative algorithm using the MG technique. The present study has considered the 'plane by plane' sweeping schedule of iterative solver. The developed method was applied to the dam breaking, and sloshing in a tank. The numerical computations confirmed that the developed method performs fairly well in 3D simulations.
