Abstract

novel simple single-layer single-feed asymmetric cross-slot rectangular patch antenna with air dielectric (εr = 1) substrate providing hexa, penta, quad, and tri frequency bands operation is proposed and experimentally studied. The same antenna is giving hexa, penta, quad, and tri frequency bands of operation by changing the feed position only. The measured hexa frequency bands of operations are at 1.11, 1.89, 2.61, 3.12, 3.52, and 3.84 GHz. The measured penta frequency bands of operations are at 1.12, 1.89, 2.58, 3.49, and 3.82 GHz. The measured quad frequency bands of operations are at 1.47, 2.44, 3.49, and 3.85 GHz. The measured tri frequency bands of operations are at 1.92, 2.62, and 3.14 GHz. These values are in good agreement with simulation results. The measured radiation patterns at each measured frequency are also shown.
