Abstract

Structural response and strength of a new type VLFS with breakwater systems using submerged plates (Sub-Plate VLFS) are investigated. Model tests are carried out for Floating Break-water using Submerged Plate (FBSP) and VLFS with submerged plate. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of FBSP is carried out, and the characteristics of load distributions and stress responses are discussed. The effectiveness of the submerged plate on the structural response of VLFS is investigated both experimentally and theoretically.
