Abstract

Aphaenochara lackneri n. gen., n. sp., is described based on material collected from a nest of the ant Aphaenogaster atlantis Santschi in the High Atlas, Morocco. This genus is closely allied to the genus Aleochara Gravenhorst, and is placed in the subtribe Aleocharina of the tribe Aleocharini.
