N2 - Treble clefts: The dendritic porphyrin receptor 1 has three fullerene-binding clefts, each of which consists of two face-to-face-oriented porphyrins. [60]Fullerene guests bind to each subunit, successively suppressing the rotational freedom ("domino" effect) and the guest-binding proceeds according to positive homotropic allosterism. As expected, the binding constant achieved in this system is large.
