Abstract

A 50-year-old male presented with erythema with itching on the right side of the abdomen. A biopsy specimen revealed a subcutaneous granulomatous reaction with eosinophils and lymphocytes, and a section of a worm was also identified. One month after the biopsy another skin induration appeared, and the whole body of a worm was found in the induration and removed. We diagnosed this case to be sparganosis mansoni based on the clinical and immunological findings and morphological characteristics of the worm.
