A case of removal of ruptured CV port catheter from left pulmonary artery

Central venous port catheter rupture is rare but important complication after port implantation, which may result in critical course. We report a case of percutaneous removal of ruptured central venous port catheter due to pinch-off syndrome from left pulmonary artery. By using loop snare catheters (Amplatz GooseNeck® Snare and EN Snare®), we attempted to remove the fragment by gripping the free proximal end but failed. So we delivered loop snare to the distal end of the fragment and hold the central part, and we successfully retrieved an 8cm catheter fragment.
