Abstract

We report the case of a 21-year-old Japanese man who had an irregularly contoured tumor on his left buttock. The tumor measured 4×3cm in size at the time of our first examination in November of 1992. Histopathologically, the lesion was composed of multi-nodular structures consisting of a mixture of cellular nodules and myxoid nodules. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for S-100 protein and neuron specific antigen (NSE). The important points illustrated by this case are that the neurothekeoma occurred in a male and it was located on the left buttock, and was composed of myxoid, cellular and mixed variant.
