N2 - We report a case of branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO) with ascending colon cancer in a young adult. The patient, a 31-year-old male, suddenly complained of visual field loss on the inferior side in his left eye. BRAO was diagnosed, based on ophthalmoscopic findings of superotemporal arterial branch occlusion with retinal edema in the left eye. Immediately, the eyeball was massaged, and intravenous anticoagulant therapy was started. The next day, fluorescein fundus angiography showed filling delay in the branches of the superotemporal artery. Platelet hyperaggregation induced by ADP and collagen was confirmed. One month later, ascending colon cancer was detected. Malignant tumor may have predisposed the retina to BRAO in this case.
