Abstract

The first burst-mode 3R receiver operating at 10.3125 Gbit/s using monolithic ICs is reported. We achieved sensitivity of -18.0 dBm with a PIN-PD, dynamic range of over 16.5 dB, and instantaneous responsivity of 75 ns. These are the highest sensitivity and the widest dynamic-range among all reported 10-Gbit/s-class burst-mode receivers for NRZ data format.
