Abstract

Beam-steering is an effective method for future terahertz-wave wireless communications because the power is concentrated to a certain direction. A 2×8 optical phased array was designed and fabricated using a silica-based lightwave circuit for THz phase control, and 450-GHz-wave beam-steering with 1 kHz repetition was demonstrated.
