Abstract

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), Toho Gas (THG) and Sumitomo Precision Products (SPP) are jointly developing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems as industrial stationary power generation systems. Two SOFC stacks composed of 40 anode-supported cells with LNF cathodes were integrated to form a 3 kW-class SOFC power generation module together with a steam generator, a steam reformer, a post combustor, heat exchangers and a start-up burner, surrounded by thermal insulators. This module provided long-term and maximum electrical conversion efficiencies (LHV) of 56% and 59%, respectively. A half load test and a stand-by test were also successfully conducted.
